Another adaptation
The Sookie Stackhouse vampire mysteries are coming to the screen! The small screen, since they will be a series on Showtime starting in September. This, along with the enormous popularity of Stephenie Meyer's series, and the movie being made of Twilight, makes me wonder if there's something about vampires that captures the mood of the nation?

I just heard about this too and am quite excited. I think Alan Ball will put an interesting spin on it. Sara and I just saw a preview for Twilight when we went to see The Dark Knight this afternoon. It felt a little campy to me. I think I might prefer this series to the movie of Meyer's book (since I'm far more interested in Jacob than Edward anyway . . . ).
