More on Bundt

In an amazing combination of two of my favorite (and perhaps oddest) obsessions, Bundt pans and cephalopods, Nordicware now makes an octopus cake pan. I must get one!!

Wow - I am learning SO much about you, JNJ!!! I can't imagine how I never knew about either of these obsessions before the creation of fertileplots! I must share this with my Bundt baker bud - please let me know if you come up with a suitable recipe!

Oh my, JNJ!

Someday, when you pass thru MN again, perhaps the Nordicware outlet store at their site in St. Louis Park will be open and we could visit!

And to think I always thought I was so cool letting my kids pick the color of the frosting on their bday cakes--I could have let them pick shapes, as well!

Maybe you'll get the octupus in time for your bday--a good time of year for an ocean theme!

JNJ- that is just about the coolest bakeware I've ever seen. Where can I get one? And does it work? In other words, does the lovely octopus come out with all his/her tentacles?

And some form of chocolate sauce squid ink should be considered don't you think?

mmm...

I was flipping through the Hearthsong catalog, and there it was!

It's winging its way towards me even as I type, so I can't attest to the fidelity of the tentacles in cake form. I have a number of other Nordicware pans, and the detail really does show up very well in cake, so I'm optimistic. (I'm also agog at the thought of a Nordicware outlet, and will have to make a pilgrimage next time we're in the Cities.)

I will report back once it has arrived and I have a chance to check it out. Chocolate ink is an inspired idea!
